Oriental Weavers’ export clients are fundamental to our success! As a symbol of our appreciation for the trust and prosperous relationship we continue to strive for, we invited over 40 of our main export clients to Egypt for a few days of business and pleasure. Our invitees came from around the world, including the USA, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Spain, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius, Panama, and Portugal. Africa Business Leaders Coalition

Yasmine Khamis, Chair of Oriental Weavers Carpets, has been appointed as a founding member of the Africa Business Leaders Coalition, a CEO-led initiative emanating from the UN Global Compact Africa Strategy 2021–2023, and is committed to advancing sustainable growth, prosperity and development in Africa by bringing measurable impact to its most pressing issues. Mrs. Yasmine said: “I am proud to share that I have been appointed as a Founding Member of the Africa Business Leaders Coalition. Convened by the United Nations Global Compact, the coalition convenes highlevel Chief Executives aiming to tackle Africa’s most pressing issues, beginning with the climate crisis.

A man who shaped the carpet industry

Mohamed Farid Khamis A true Egyptian visionary Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis was born in Cairo in April 1940.Since  his early days he was always known among family and peers as a person with objectives and and absolute dedication. After graduated from the faculty of commerce in Ain Shams University in 1961, Mr Khamis decided to pursuer his passion in trade and spent couple of years in 1960s in Kuwait where he was engaged in the retail and import  business of rugs and carpets.    

AGAIN – Oriental Weavers Just Changed The Rug Business

Oriental Weavers has racked up a lot of firsts, including the first polypropylene Wilton woven machine made rug in a Persian design. I have one. They have now introduced an entry level price point wool Persian village design cross woven on an adapted gripper axminster machine. At the moment I know of just 6 machine woven wool rug lines; one spool ax, 4 Wilton woven, and one side woven gripper ax. DOMOTEX 2020 showcases integrated flooring, wall and ceiling design

Under the title “Floor & More”, from 10 to 13 January 2020, DOMOTEX exhibitors will be showing how carpets, cork elements or design panels can be used to create atmospheric interiors. The manufacturers Oriental Weavers, Wicanders and Swiss Krono will be displaying interesting solutions in which floor coverings become stylish eye-catchers and where floors visually blend into the wall design. Now Showing: Aldwych theatre’s debut!

The Aldwych Theatre is a grade 2 listed building in the heart of the theatre district of central London. It was designed by renowned theatre architect W.G.R Sprague and first opened its doors to the paying public in 1905. The Nederlander group, who own the property, recently restored the Aldwych back to its former glory as part of a multi-million pound restoration project which included new carpeting in all of the theatre’s grand public areas.
